Safeguarding
How I keep your teen safe
These are the rules I follow in every class, written out so you know exactly what happens before your teen joins one.

Enrolled students only
Every class uses a waiting room
01
In class
- Groups have six students at most, and I'm teaching live for the whole class.
- Every class uses a Zoom waiting room, and I only let in students who are enrolled.
- Cameras stay on, so I can see that everyone is okay and following along.
- In school sessions, a member of the school's staff is always in the room.
02
Messages
- I never message students on personal social media.
- Class messages go to parents, or to students with a parent copied in.
- Parents get a short update halfway through each programme, and another at the end.
03
Recordings and privacy
- Sessions may be recorded so absent students can catch up. Only that group sees them, and they're deleted when the programme ends.
- Nothing goes public without written permission from the student and a parent.
- Testimonials only ever show a first name, last initial and city.
- I only keep the information I need to run classes. I never sell it or pass it on.
04
Using AI
- I follow each AI tool's age rules. If a student is too young for a tool, I use it on my screen and they watch.
- Students learn never to type their own or anyone else's personal details into an AI tool.
- We talk openly about what AI gets wrong, and about when using it in schoolwork crosses a line.
- The student makes the decisions about their work. AI is one of the tools they use to get it done.
